PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading apparatus capable of effectively avoiding an obstacle element which is present at a reading position of a document and affects an image to be read.SOLUTION: Document reading means includes first detection means which detects an obstacle element from image data outputted from the reading means while a document is not absence or present at a reading position, correction means which corrects image data of the document read by the reading means, second detection means which detects an obstacle element from image data outputted from the reading means after the end of reading the document on the basis of a detection result of the first detection means, and determination means which determines the reading position from a detection result of the second detection means. When the first detection means detects the obstacle element, after the end of reading a final document, control means moves the reading position, the second detection means detects the obstacle element from image data outputted from the reading means at the reading position after the movement, and the determination means determines the reading position from the detection result of the second detection means. |
