PURPOSE: A cap ply for a radial tire including a double code is provided to maintain the durability of an existing tire and to reduce the occurrence of belt separation. CONSTITUTION: A cap ply (108) for a radial tire including a double code covers the whole part and both ends of a belt unit (106). A first code (112) comprised of polyester is inserted into an edge unit (116) of the cap ply. A second code (113) comprised of a nylon 6,6 is inserted into a center unit (114) between edge units. The first code includes a lower heat shrinkage rate and a larger shrinkage stress than the second cord.
