Class 132(3) [Also in Groups X, XIV and XXII] Constructional components, such as bars 21, 211 Fig. 13, have one or more longitudinally extending rows of regularly spaced circular holes adapted to receive connecting bolts 4, the holes in each row having at least two different diameters, the holes 3 of larger diameter being arranged alternately with holes 1 of smaller diameter. The diameter of the bolt 4 may correspond to the diameter of the smaller holes 1 and when the bolt is required to pass through a large hole 3, such a hole is provided with a tightly fitting circular inset 5 having an opening 7 of a diameter or width equal to the diameter of the bolt. The opening 7 may be circular and located centrally as in Fig. 7 or may be eccentric or elongated as in inserts shown in Figs. 8-11 which are for use when the two registering holes 1, 3, are eccentrically positioned in relation to each other. The two components may be of different sizes as in Fig. 21 in which the smaller bar 211 has small and large holes 111, 311 respectively the holes 311 being of the same diameter as the smaller holes 11 in the larger bar 21. Insets may be provided to fit the holes 3' and 311 and bolts 411, 41 may be used having diameters equal to the diameters of the holes 111 and 11 respectively. The components acording to the invention may be used in conjunction. with variously shaped perforated connectors, Figs. 15-20 and 22-29 (not shown) some of which are provided with one or more particularly large circular openings each of which is fitted with a large inset, similar to the insets 5, having several openings therein, these large insets being either freely rotatable in their openings or being capable of being secured in any desired relative position therein. The invention is stated to be applicable to toys and to furniture, as a reinforcement for concrete constructions and for scaffoldings, platforms and the like.
