PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a single wire steel wire with small arc height and small residual torsion.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a single wire steel cord is characterized in that: a metal wire W is inserted into a plurality of rotary straightening machines 20 and 30 arranged in series on a pass line P of the metal wire W and is fed while rotating at least one rotary straightening machine 30 in a different direction from the rotating direction of other rotary straightening machine 20, so that the metal wire W obtains the designated residual torsion and straightness.
