PURPOSE: A sodium sulfur battery is provided to secure battery safety and streamline the assembling and manufacturing process of a ballast lamp and a battery by finely managing a gap only in part between an electrolyte pipe and the ballast lamp. CONSTITUTION: A sodium sulfur battery (100) includes an anode instrument (14) accommodating sulfur, a cathode container (12) accommodating sodium, electrolyte pipe (10) installed between the anode instrument and the cathode container and selectively transferring only the sodium ion, an insulator (16) insulating the cathode container and an anode instrument interval and the ballast lamp (20) surrounding the cathode container to be installed between the electrolyte pipe and the cathode container and selectively blocking the cathode container interval. The ballast lamp comprises one or more protrusion part (22) protruded along the outer periphery tracking the columnar direction.
