PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a liver injury such as hepatic fibrosis, cirrhosis and hepatitis as well as a method for improving a liver function.SOLUTION: An agent for treating a liver injury or improving a liver function contains n-butylidenephthalide represented by formula (I): wherein R is =CHCHCHCH, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, as an active ingredient. The n-butylidenephthalide is E form, Z form or a mixture thereof. |
