PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-quality quaternary ammonium salt that gives no odor right after production and can prevent the occurrence of odor even after storage under harsh conditions.SOLUTION: The method for producing a quaternary ammonium salt includes reacting a predetermined tertiary amine represented by formula (I) and a quaternizing agent selected from 1-3C alkyl halides in water at a ratio of the quaternizing agent/the tertiary amine: 0.09 to 1.03 mole ratio. |
