A method for positioning packing boxes in covering lines comprises a step of acquiring a photographic image of a covering sheet (200) positioned on the conveyor (2), a step of processing the photographic image to identify an angular orientation adopted by the covering sheet (200) on the conveyor (2) and a subsequent step of orientation of a packing box (100) depending on the angular orientation previously identified, in such a way that the box (100) and the covering sheet (200) are positioned according to the same angular orientation and can be superposed with a high level of precision.
