PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module or the like which enables temperature control of an optical element with a simple structure while achieving low power consumption.SOLUTION: In an optical module 10, an optical element 11, where a DFB-LD and an optical modulator are integrated, is mounted on a first cooling part 13, and a wavelength monitor 14 is mounted on a second cooling part 15. When a transmission line 16 transmitting a modulation signal is disposed from a modulation signal input part 122 of a package 12 to the optical element 11, the transmission line 16 is placed in contact with the second cooling part 15 in an area between the modulation signal input part 122 and a position that the transmission line 16 contacts with a surface of the first cooling part 13 on which the optical element 11 is mounted. The optical module 10 having the structure reduces the sum of power consumption of the first cooling part 13 and the second cooling part 15, compared to a case where the transmission line 16 does not contact with the second cooling part 15. |
