<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open type disposable diaper which a user can easily wear in a standing posture. <P>SOLUTION: The open type disposable diaper 20 includes a chassis 30 having: a skin abutting face 21; a clothes abutting face 22; a first girth area 23 and a second girth area 25 which are arranged in a length direction, width direction and length direction; and a crotch under area 24 positioned between the girth areas. The chassis 30 includes a fastening system 31 connecting the first and second girth areas 23, 25 to both width-direction side parts 26. Temporary fastening means 50 which has a base end part 53 and a connection part 54 extending therefrom and can releasably hold the diaper 20 to the clothes worn by the upper half body of a diaper wearer is set on the first girth area 23.
