PURPOSE: A height adjustable ladder for lifting and lowering a work surface plate is provided to enable a worker to easily adjust the height and position of a ladder and to reduce the risk of safety accidents by facilitating handling. CONSTITUTION: A height adjustable ladder (10) for lifting and lowering a work surface plate comprises a front tube plate unit (100), a rear tube plate unit (200), a footstool unit (300), and a support unit (400). The front tube plate unit comprises first and second front tube plates (110,120) to be laterally offset side by side. The rear tube plate unit comprises first and second front tube plates (210,220) to be offset side by side to the rear side from the front side. The footstool unit comprises a plurality of footstools (310) which is rotatably joined to the lateral side of the front and rear tube plates.
