A system and a method for operating a trunk type between a BTS(Base Transceiver Station) and a BSC(Base Station Controller) in a mobile communication system are provided to change a corresponding trunk type without the deletion procedure of a trunk type connecting the BTS and the BSC through an operation's instruction. A system for operating a trunk type between a BTS(30) and a BSC(20) in a mobile communication system comprises a BSM(Base Station Manager)(10), the BSC, and the BTS. The BSM receives a corresponding instruction according to a change of the trunk type from an operator, updates trunk type information preset within a library, in which the trunk type information between the BTS and the BSC are stored according to the instruction, and transmits a signal in response to the change of the trunk type to the BTS and the BSC. The BSC receives the signal from the BSM, recognizes the trunk type change information stored in the library, and performs call disconnection and call processing according to a call type on the basis of the changed trunk type. The BTS recognizes the changed trunk type referring to the trunk type information, and performs matching with the BSC on the basis of the changed trunk type information to transceive data by call type based on the changed trunk type. |
