PURPOSE: A steering assistant control method and device are provided to offer desired steering feelings for each user by controlling steering assistant and producing steering assistant power on the basis of a reference steering assistant power and the steering requirement information of a user. CONSTITUTION: A steering assistant control device (100) comprises a reference steering assistant power storage unit (110), a user steering requirement information setup unit (120), a steering assistant power producing unit (130), and a steering assistant control unit (140). The reference steering assistant power storage unit stores information with respect to a reference steering assistant power. The user steering requirement information setup unit sets and stores user steering requirement information. The steering assistant power producing unit checks reference steering assistant power with respect to a current speed of a vehicle on the basis of reference steering assistant power by vehicle speeds and produces steering assistant power on the basis of the checked reference steering assistant power and the user steering requirement information. The steering assistant control unit controls steering assistant on the basis of steering assistant power.
