PURPOSE: A device for preventing a wire from disconnecting a wire electrical discharge machine is provided to induce a stable discharge by equalizing an unstable state between the poles due to a fine chip floating between the poles. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing a wire from disconnecting a wire electrical discharge machine comprises a discharge voltage generating unit (520), an unloaded voltage generating unit (530), a fine voltage generation unit (540), and a discharge voltage applying unit (510). The unloaded voltage generating unit generates the unloaded voltage applying between a processed material and the wire before discharging. The fine voltage generation unit generates a fine pulse which is greater than the unloaded voltage between the processed material and the wire. The discharge voltage applying unit sequentially applies the fine pulse, the unloaded voltage, the discharge voltage generated by the fine voltage generation unit, the unloaded voltage generating unit, and the discharge voltage generating unit between the processed material and the wire.
