PURPOSE: A walking aid device and a method for preventing overspeed are provided to assist a user to walk on a downhill using a deceleration device and to allow a user to take a rest using a foldable seat. CONSTITUTION: A walking aid device comprises a foldable seat and a deceleration device. The deceleration device is mounted on wheels and decelerates using a current. The deceleration device is operated by a principle that deceleration is caused by a magnetic force opposite to the flow of a current, which is generated by a coil which covers a non-conductive line. The deceleration device provides a sufficient braking effect using only small number of magnets and prevents elderly people from being injured on a downhill.
