PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to obtain use safety of a secondary battery by allowing generated overcurrent to flow to outside of a secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery (1) comprises a battery module (50) which includes a battery cell (10) including at least one unit cell, and an external case which accommodates the battery cell; and a safety apparatus (60) for a secondary battery facing the outer side of the battery cell by being accommodated into the external case. The safety apparatus includes a first metal sheet which is electrically connected to the first electrode; a second metal sheet which is electrically connected to the second electrode of the battery cell and is separated from the first metal sheet.
