PURPOSE: A method for controlling a heat pump system of a binary vapor cycle is provided to prevent the malfunction of the system as the heat of refrigerants of a high-temperature unit cycle and a low-temperature unit cycle or the refrigerant of the low-temperature unit cycle and the hot water of a necessary place are exchanged by a cascade heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a heat pump system of a binary vapor cycle comprises the steps of: selectively applying a high-temperature unit cycle and a low-temperature unit cycle according to the temperature of the heat source set at a necessary place (S100); operating the high-temperature unit cycle when the necessary place needs the heat source water of a preset high-temperature and supplying a high-temperature heat source by exchanging the heat of a refrigerant of the high-temperature unit cycle and the supply water of the necessary place (S200); and operating the low-temperature unit cycle when the necessary place needs the heat source water of t a preset middle-temperature and supplying a middle-temperature heat source by exchanging the heat of a refrigerant of the low-temperature unit cycle and the supply water of the necessary place (S300).
