PURPOSE: A method for providing content division and a device are provided to reconstruct a lot of content displayed in a user terminal by dividing the content into a layer unit, thereby maximizing the readability of a user for the content. CONSTITUTION: A content providing device receives a content request including a set of content identification information from a user terminal (S6100). The content providing device extracts a lot of sub-content based on the content identification information (S6200). Sub-content codes for a lot of sub-content are generated (S6300). Content response including the control code for a plurality of sub-content codes and the sub-content is transmitted to the user terminal (S6400). The plurality of sub-content codes is included in each layer. The control code includes a set of display ranking information for the sub-content. The control code includes a code which a first layer is firstly displayed based on the display ranking information.
