The invention relates to agriculture, namely fruit growing, particularly to a method for measuring the growth in thickness of skeletal roots of the perennial plant and an apparatus for its implementation.The method, according to the invention, includes grubbing out of roots of the triennial plant to a radius of 60 cm from the root collar, measurement of root primary thickness, placement on roots of a thickness measuring device, which provides the root wrapping with a measuring twine, passed through a plastic tube located vertically, in which are made 2 holes on the upper end and lower at 15 cm, after which the ends of the twine are withdrawn out through the upper holes and tied with an elastic twine bred out through the lower hole. At the same time, on each horizontal skeletal root are installed 2 devices: one - at a distance of 10 cm from the root collar, the other - over 50 cm along the axial line of the root, and on each vertical skeletal root - one device at a distance of 10 cm from the root collar. The roots are buried in soil, placing the upper end of the device outside. It is carried out the measurement and registration of length of the measuring twines located outside, then in spring and in autumn is measured the length of the measuring twines located outside, and on the basis of changes in the length of twines is determined the thickness of the roots. |
