The system has a barcode printed on a product support, and a writing unit for writing a specific digital code in the barcode. A mobile barcode reading device reads the barcode and identifies the specific code. A server comprises a recognition unit for recognizing the specific code. The server displays multimedia content on a display unit, when the server recognizes the specific code identified by the reading device, where the multimedia content is associated with the support. The reading device and the display unit are formed on a same mobile apparatus i.e. smartphone. The multimedia content comprises texts and/or images and/or music and/or videos and/or hypertext links.
