摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an alignment film from being damaged by ultraviolet light without using a light-shielding mask for the ultraviolet light in a process for hardening resin for bonding a TFT substrate having an alignment film on which optical alignment treatment is performed to a counter substrate by using the ultraviolet light. <P>SOLUTION: An ultraviolet absorbing layer 210 is formed between black matrixes 201 of a counter substrate 200. A periphery of a TFT substrate 100 and the counter substrate 200 is sealed with a seal material 150. The seal material 150 is ultraviolet curable resin, and is irradiated with ultraviolet light from a side of the counter substrate 200 to be hardened. Since the ultraviolet absorbing layer 210 has large absorption for wavelength of 300 nm or less which deteriorates an alignment film 113, the alignment film 113 can be prevented from being damaged by the ultraviolet light for hardening the seal material. Thereby, arrangement of a light-shielding mask for shielding the ultraviolet light toward a display region can be omitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
