The transmission (4) has a transmission stage (8) connected with a drive shaft (7). Another transmission stage is connected downstream of the former transmission stage. The two transmission stages and other two transmission stages (10, 11) are accommodated in housing segments (12a-12d) of a transmission housing (13). The transmission stages are detachably connected with each other. A separate housing segment is associated to each transmission stage. The transmission stages are displaceably mounted on a mounting rail (14), which is horizontally arranged adjacent to the housing. An independent claim is also included for a drive train.
