A container apparatus (20) is disclosed that can utilize a "buffer zone" between a highly moveable lid (28) and a substantially stationary body (22). A collection of score lines (70) substantially surrounding a plate (24) can mediate between the mobile lid (28) and stationary body (22). Flaps (54) and accompanying side score lines (71) can act collectively with the plate (24) to facilitate the opening and closing of the lid (28). Opening and closing the lid (28) can involve the folding of the various score lines (71) in the buffer to various degrees.
