A washing machine and a washing method are provided. The washing machine comprises an inner cylinder (2),an outer cylinder (1) and solid grains (3) served as washing medium; the inner cylinder (2) is rotated by a driving device (4); lifters (8) protruded inwardly are mounted on the inner wall of the inner cylinder (2); a wind circulating passage (10) is mounted in the washing machine; a fan(11) is mounted in the wind circulating passage (10), the double ends of the wind circulating passage (10) are connected with the inner cylinder (2); the grains outlet (9) used for withdrawing the grains (3) and the grains inlet (14) used for introducing the grains (3) are mounted at the forepart of the inner cylinder (2). The invention makes the clothes mix fully with the grains (3), and the washing efficiency is improved. Simultaneously, after the washing process, the clothes and the grains (3) can be drained and dehydrated to regeneration at the same time. The washing process is simplified, and the separation and withdraw of the grains (3) are realized by blowing wind to the inner cylinder (2), which is convenient for the withdrawal of the grains (3).
