<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device that can suppress manufacturing costs while obtaining desired exhaust emission control performance. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device includes: an upstream catalyst that is located at the upstream side of an exhaust pipe forming an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and provided in an engine room; and a downstream catalyst that is located at the exhaust pipe on the downstream side farther than the upstream catalyst and provided under a floor of a vehicle. In the upstream catalyst, a catalyst layer containing at least two noble metals as catalyst components is carried by a carrier. In the downstream catalyst, a catalyst layer where at least one of the noble metals carried on the upstream catalyst as the catalyst components is substituted with a transition metal is carried by the carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
