<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical glass, which is used preferably for correction of chromatic aberration and can contribute to weight reduction of an optical device, though having a refractive index (n<SB POS="POST">d</SB>) and an Abbe number (ν<SB POS="POST">d</SB>) in desired ranges; and to provide a lens perform using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass contains, with respect to the total amount of the glass in terms of oxide composition, in mass%, 5.0 to 55.0% of a B<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">5</SB>component, 10.0 to 55.0% of a La<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>component, and further a Y<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>component and an F component.
