A comminuting device (10) comprises a comminuting chamber (12) with a bottom wall (16) and a circumferential wall (14) projecting upwardly from the bottom wall (16), a drive shaft which runs substantially orthogonally to the bottom wall (16) and which can be driven to rotate about an axis of rotation (A), and at least one comminuting element (38) arranged in the comminuting chamber (12), wherein the comminuting element (38) is pivotably mounted with respect to the drive shaft exclusively in a plane running orthogonally to the axis of rotation (A), and wherein the radially outer end of the comminuting element (38) that faces the circumferential wall (14) has a radially outer surface which runs at least in portions parallel to the circumferential wall (14) and/or the side of the comminuting element (38) that precedes during a rotation of the drive shaft is flattened. |
