Disclosed is a device for running state indication. The device includes a control unit, an encoding/modulation unit, a logic AND unit, a driver and an indicator light. Also disclosed is an apparatus for running station detection. The apparatus includes a light detecting unit, a demodulation/decoding unit and a display unit. Still disclosed are a method and an apparatus for running state indication and detection, by which multiple running states of the detected apparatus could be shown to users without adding additional hardware interfaces to the detected apparatus, therefore the requirement for monitoring and detecting field devices is satisfied, and it is much preponderant for monitoring various complicated running states of the apparatus in the application.
