The support (1) has a base plate (10) and a mounting block (30) connected with the base plate, on which a solar module (2) is fixed. The base plate is a profile metal sheet, and the mounting block has an opening opened downward to the base plate and closed upward for receiving a screw guided from below through the base plate. The base plate is a corrugated metal sheet or a trapezoidal sheet. The opening of the mounting block, which is closed upward is a threaded hole. A seal is arranged over the entire surface between the mounting block and the base plate. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a solar module on a roof.
