The door for a cooking oven has elastomeric retaining components (11 -13) along one side and counter-surfaces (72, 74, 79) on the other. A door plate (4, 9) is held between the two sets of components by the pressure of the deformed retaining components acting on the counter-surfaces. An Independent claim is included for a cooking oven including a door as described above.
