<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus shortening a processing time, and faithfully reproducing, on an output image, a gray scale of an input image to a specific density other than a maximum density while reducing toner consumed, and to provide a method for changing image forming conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit 40 that forms, on a photosensitive drum 413, a gray scale patch 440 of a specific density that a user desires in densities other than the maximum density; a density detecting sensor 416 that detects the density of the gray scale patch 440 formed on the photosensitive drum 413 by the image forming unit 40; and a control unit 70 that changes a rotation speed of a developing roller 430 on the basis of the density detected by the density detecting sensor 416 and changes image forming conditions when the image forming unit 40 forms the image of the specific density. Thereby, all the gray scale patch required for faithfully reproducing the gray scale of the input image on an output image is just the gray scale patch 440 of the density that the user desires. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
