PROTECTIVE STRUCTURE FOR MUFFLER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce air resistance caused by a muffler in a protective structure for the muffler which is disposed in front of the muffler under the floor of a vehicle to protect the muffler from an obstacle on the ground.

SOLUTION: The protective structure includes an attachment portion 10 attached to an exhaust pipe 1 in front of the muffler M1; and a protection portion 20 extended radially outward and backward from the attachment portion 10 around the exhaust pipe 1 in an integrated fashion. The protection portion 20 has an outer circumferential surface 21 composed of a convex paraboloidal surface extended from the upstream side of the exhaust pipe 1 to the downstream side, and a rear end 22 thereof is located substantially on an extension L-L obtained by extending a front end outer diameter portion M1d of the muffler M1 forward.
