PURPOSE: A nitrile-based compound is provided to improve performance of a lithium secondary battery in room temperature and high temperatures by restraining oxidation decomposition of non-aqueous electrolyte or by restraining electrodeposition of metal ions eluted from electrodes to an anode. CONSTITUTION: A nitrile-based compound is represented by chemical formula 1: NC-R1-C≡C-R2-CN. In chemical formula 1, R1 and R2 is respectively a bond, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-12 alkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted C3-12 cycloalkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted C2-12 alkenylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted C2-12 alkylene group or a substituted or unsubstituted C6-18 group. Nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery is an ionizable lithium salt, organic solvent, and a nitrile-based compound represented by chemical formula 1. |
