<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorosulfonated polyolefin excellent in cold resistance and light color property, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The chlorosulfonated polyolefin contains 0.001-1.0 wt.% of 1,1,2-trichloroethane, and having a YI value of 15 or less. The method for producing the chlorosulfonated polyolefin includes: chlorinating and chlorosulfonating polyethylene using 1,1,2-trichloroethane as a solvent.
