<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately derive a distance to a measurement target even under the environment where a noise factor of a relatively large particle size is present or where back-scattered light is generated. <P>SOLUTION: A laser radar device comprises a distance attenuation estimation circuit 10 and a gain circuit 11. When a signal strength of a reception signal (d) in present sampling is lower than a signal strength of the reception signal (d) in previous sampling, the distance attenuation estimation circuit 10 uses the signal strength of the reception signal (d) in the present sampling and a reception time to calculate an attenuation coefficient (g) of energy of laser light caused by a medium on a propagation path.
