POROUS OXIDE COATED PARTICLE, SUPPORTED CATALYST, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supported catalyst high in activity and maintaining the activity for a long period of time even if used.

SOLUTION: The supported catalyst with hydrophilic porous oxide coated particles supported on the surface of a carrier includes metallic core particles, and a porous oxide layer attached to at least part of the surface of the metallic core particles. A main component of the porous oxide layer is a silica-based oxide, and the average pore diameter of pores in the porous oxide layer is more than 0.2 nm and less than 8 nm.
