<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle by which strength is maintained without increasing the size. <P>SOLUTION: The axle includes an axle case forming a profile of the axle, a bracket 26 joined to the axle case and connected with a torque rod extending from a vehicle frame. The axle case 11 is provided with a column-like part 60 projecting outside. The bracket 26 has an insertion hole into which the column-like part 60 is inserted.
