<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently cooling a photoreceptor drum by an air flow and effectively suppressing toner contamination by releasing toner to the inside or outside of the device together with an air flow with a simple and space-saving configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A slit-shaped ventilation opening 51 is formed over a cleaning device 17 in a unit housing 40a and a second ventilation opening 53 is formed in a charging housing 15a. A partition member 55 is attached to the surface facing a cleaning blade 47 in the charging g housing 15a. The air flow flowing into the charging housing 15a through the first ventilation opening 51 and the second ventilation opening 53 flows downward in the charging housing 15a and cools the surface of a photoreceptor drum 14 and then is discharged to the downstream side in the rotation direction of the photoreceptor drum 14.
