The mechanism (50) has a reinforcement (12) including a set of guiding portions (14) shifted angularly relative to each other around a clevis pin (Y). The guiding portions are spaced from/to each other by recesses (16) in which locking elements (32) are guided between active position and inactive position. A closing ring (42) extends relative to the locking elements and the guiding portions. The reinforcement includes a collar (18) connecting the guiding portions and extending through a central passage from the ring. An independent claim is also included for an articulation assembly.
