Machine for the prepn. of cooked dishes comprising alternate layers of pastry sheets and food filling. A rectangular table comprises a recessed work surface whose two longitudinal edges have rails guiding a chariot, above the work surface, which is associated with the means of longitudinal displacement w.r.t the table. The chariot is equipped with a reservoir contg. the filling, extending the width of the work surface, separated longitudinally from the reservoir, for the storage and ditribution of at least one band of pastry, of a width equivalent to that of the work surface. The menas of attaching the free end of the pastry band is located at the end of the table facing the tray. Pref. pastry sheet is pleated parallel to width of table. Attachment of pastry to table is via articualting pincer, on transversal axle, spring tensioned to work surface. Longitudinal displacement of chariot is via motor (n/s) and stops at either end of rails. An electromagnet, with current supplied/interrupted as function of direction of motor opens and closes base of reservoir. Chariot has retractable pivoting cutters. USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic, industrial scale operation retaining qualities of flavour and presentation at reduced costs.
