The method involves establishing a communication channel (E20) between a terminal (T1) and telecommunication equipment or another terminal (T2). A command sent by a computer application (AP1) is intercepted (E30) within the terminal. The command is translated (E50) into a sequence of dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) codes. The sequence is sent (E60) to the equipment via the communication channel. The sequence is received (E70) by the equipment, and translated (E90) into the command. The command is processed (E100).
