PURPOSE: A method for suppressing the formation of a bio film in a water treatment separating membrane is provided to efficiently purify polluted water or seawater by preventing the damage of the separating membrane. CONSTITUTION: A composition for suppressing the formation of a bio film in a water treatment separating membrane includes garlic extract or ginger extract as effective components. A method for manufacturing the garlic extract or the ginger extract includes the following: the garlic extract or the ginger extract is extracted using an organic solvent; and water is applied to the extract to obtain water soluble fractions. The organic solvent is one or more selected from a group including acetone, ethyl acetate, ether, chloroform, pentane, hexane, heptane, nonane, decane, benzene, toluene, xylene, methanol ethanol, butanol, and ethanol.
