<p>The invention essentially relates to a system for detecting the abnormal mental performance of an individual, comprising: a first apparatus (100) comprising computation means (101-106) for determining a first speed threshold value (K1); a means for transmitting the speed threshold value (K1) to at least a second apparatus (A1-AN), wherein said second apparatus (A1-AN) comprises: a means (202) for transmitting an audio and/or visual signal; a sensor (206) for measuring a walking speed (Vm) or a moving distance in order to deduce a walking speed (Vm) therefrom; and a program memory (204) comprising: a program (P10) for comparing the measured walking speed (Vm) with the first threshold value (K1), and a program (P11) for transmitting a visual and/or sound signal that is based on the result of the comparison with at least one threshold value.
