The light source control device (1) has: an interface unit (2) that receives control commands comprising gradation data prescribing the amount of light emission for each light source and operation mode signals that specify the operation mode; a dynamic control unit (6) that, according to the number of first signal wires connected to the anodes of the light sources to be used in the specified operation mode, determines a first period during which electric power is supplied to each first signal wire so that the timing of electric power supply differs from each other; and a period-setting unit (9) that sets a second period for each second signal wire connected to the cathodes of the light sources to be used in the specified operation mode. The second period is a period during which the light sources can be turned on according to the amount of light emission represented in the gradation data corresponding to said light sources while the first period is set for the first signal wires connected to the anodes of the light sources that are connected to the second signal wires.
