PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller capable of suppressing a failure in determining the normality/abnormality.

SOLUTION: Start time determination means (ECU 40) determines whether a first rotation angle sensor 31 is normal or abnormal when the ECU 40 is started by electrification. Determination continuation means (ECU 40) continues determining whether the first rotation angle sensor 31 is normal or abnormal, after the determination by the start time determination means. Nonvolatile storage means 43 stores a result of the determination by the start time determination means and determination continuation means (ECU 40). When the ECU 40 has been started by the electrification; the start time determination means refers to the determination result stored in the storage means 43, and determines that "the first rotation angle sensor 31 is normal" when the determination result shows "the first rotation angle sensor 31 is normal". When the start time determination means has determined that "the first rotation angle sensor 31 is normal", the ECU 40 starts drive control of a VGRS motor 22.
