<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat frame structure for a vehicle seat in which components can be disposed at an outer periphery of a rod member while the quenched rod member is suppressed in the deterioration of the strength thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The seat frame structure for the vehicle seat includes: side frames 12, 13, 14 arranged oppositely while being spaced at a predetermined interval in a vehicle width direction; and the elongated rod member 16 mounted to the side frames 12, 13, 14 while being extended across the intervals therebetween. The rod member 16 is strengthened by being subjected to quenching. A quenching-free short external tube member 20 is fitted to an outer periphery of the rod member 16.
