PURPOSE: A turning gear for a gas turbine apparatus is provided to roll a load at a low speed during off-line washing or to rotate the load together with a turbo machine connected to actuate a low pressure compressor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for actuating a load includes a high pressure compressor (107), a high pressure turbine (109), a first gas turbine shaft, a second gas turbine shaft (115), a low pressure compressor (105), a multi-shaft gas turbine, and a dual-speed turning gear. The high pressure compressor and the high pressure turbine are mutually connected to be actuated by the first gas turbine shaft. The low pressure compressor and a power turbine are mutually connected to be actuated by the second gas turbine shaft coaxially extended from the first gas turbine shaft, the high pressure compressor, and the high pressure turbine. The power turbine is connected to the load by a load coupling and is capable of being actuated. The dual-speed turning gear is coupled to the load to be actuated and has an output shaft detachable from the load.
