PURPOSE: A device for controlling the steering efforts of a motor driven power steering device is provided to enable a driver to optimally steer according to a driving environment and an individual property by providing an active steering effort mode depending on the steering intention of the driver and the driving environment of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling the steering efforts of a motor driven power steering device comprises a selection switch(10), a lane sensor(20), a wheel speed sensor(30), a speed change sensor(40), and a control unit(50). The selection switch selects an effort mode. The lane sensor senses the change of a lane while driving. The wheel speed sensor senses the slip of a vehicle wheel. The speed change sensor senses the speed change of a vehicle. The control unit outputs torque variation by adjusting secondary torque in the effort mode in real time.
