A container (1) for collecting and storing biodegradable waste, comprising a body (10) for holding a flexible liner (40), a lid assembly (20) releasably mountable on the body (10) and having an aperture (25) for receiving waste material and a lid (21) for closing the aperture (25). The lid assembly (20)having a gripping mechanism (23) for attaching a mouth of the liner (40) around the aperture (25). Wherein the gripping mechanism (23) is wholly on or part of the lid assembly (20), whereby on dismounting of the lid assembly (20) from the body (10), attachment of the liner (40) to the lid assembly (20) is maintainable to permit the liner (40) to be sealed between its ends. |
