摘要 PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery is provided to improve output performance, capacity performance, thermal stability, and lifetime by having a core-shell structure. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprises a core including a compound represented by chemical formula 1: Li_x1M1_y1M2_z1PO_(4-w1)E_w1 and a shell including a compound represented by chemical formula 2: Li_x2M3_y2M4_z2PO_4-w2E_w2. The material compositions of the core and the sell are different from each other. The diameter of the positive electrode active material is 5-25 microns and the tap density is 1-2 g/cm^3. A lithium secondary battery includes the positive electrode active material-containing positive electrode, negative electrode active material-containing negative electrode, and electrolyte.
